About our ergonomic improvements:
These features are optional as playing music is personal and these may not be to everyone’s taste. A standard hand rest and air button works fine. However as a player I can recommend our optional ergonomic features to anyone who wishes to improve their playing comfort, especially when playing over long periods of time. These features could potentially also be beneficial to a player suffering from arthritis or tendonitis.
Our optional ergonomic features are as follows:
The air lever:
This design is more suited to the movement of the thumb than the conventional air button, resulting in a more natural and comfortable motion. The human hand is very suited to grabbing things, slowly make your hand into a fist and watch the movement of your thumb. This is a natural movement for the thumb and this is what our air levers are designed to work with. If you are unsure feel free to visit us and try one out.
Ergonomic shape hand rest:
These are made to a more curved shape as opposed to the classic flat hand rest found on historic instruments. This shape gives more support to the hand during playing and for many players is found to be more comfortable. However many may prefer the traditional style hand rest, playing music is personal after all. We have display models with both styles of hand rest so you may try either.
